How to Connect with Your Hamster

Connect with your Hamster
It is easy for people to buy  an hamster for their first time.
And never been able to get on with them full stop,
Ya may just think they are cute,
How hard can it be?

They are not just a Rodent.
Hamsters and most pets connect with their owners Through Eye Contact and Body Language.
By softly speaking to them and let them be noticed as much as possible is a good key point to note.
Ya can tell when the hamster is happy by the way he/she stretches her front arms slowly as she take a stroll, They can even feel so happy, that they may go into the bedding to calm down, before coming out for second wave of attention and affection.

When I got home with Sandy (The hamster seen above)
She connected with me fast, When offered her my hand to go on,
I didn't expect she would,
I wasn't afraid at all, Just surprised.
I have gotten on very well with all animals all my life.
And strangely all animals don't sense me as a threat.

So people who are new to having an Hamster, You have a longer journey to pick up your hamsters trust.
There are many guides on youtube on how to bond with Hamsters,  But it doesn't really explain that that people who have no pet experience at all can just follow the rules to make tame.
I heard that someone on Facebook followed the youtube guides and still their hamster bites them.

Scrappy (My 1st Hamster) R.I.P The fun we had.

OK lets pretend I am the Hamster
"I am in a cage and out side are 2 giants, When are they going to eat me"

YOU
"Awww look at them cute eyes, We have done everything we can find, to get the hamster to not     bite us ,apart from rubbing the bedding in our hands so that the hamster gets used to our scent"

HAMSTER
"Why they taking my bedding out! I just got used to sleeping in that, I feel like biting him, I must hold back, he is bigger than me.

YOU
"That is done, lets put the bedding back in and leave him overnight"

HAMSTER (Next Day)
" That was the most difficult sleep i ever had, The bedding scent is of the scary giants, Why do they want me to sleep in that now, "
(Here comes giant mans hand)
Oh no he is going to eat me, Ahh is hands and scent is all around me, Time for me to bite him before he bites me.

RESULTS
Hamster still bites because, You most likely Talk about the hamster and not to them.
Taking these YouTube tips mostly won't work.

 MAIN POINT
Hamsters have feelings just like humans, They can be Happy, sad and Angry too.
And as long as you look hamster in the eyes and talk to them often,
They gladly accept you as their Trusting Companion.
